Last updated November 6, 2026

This Privacy Notice for AtlasVR AG ("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your personal information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you:

The AtlasVR Dashboard has a privacy notice of its own.

Questions or concerns? Reading this Privacy Notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. We are responsible for making decisions about how your personal information is processed. If you still have any questions or concerns, please contact us at info@atlasvr.ch.

Summary of key points

This summary provides key points from our Privacy Notice. You can find more details about any of these topics in the sections below, or use the table of contents to find the section you are looking for.

What personal information do we process? When you visit our websites, technical data such as your IP address and details of your browser and device, which we need to run them securely. On top of that, what you tell us yourself when you write to us or book a demo. We do not process sensitive personal information.

Do we use cookies or tracking? We set no advertising or tracking cookies and build no profiles. We count page views without cookies, with Vercel Web Analytics. Only the booking calendar on the contact page sets technically necessary cookies.

Where is your information processed? The server-side functions of our websites run on Vercel in Frankfurt, demo bookings are stored with Infomaniak in Switzerland, and emails are processed in Microsoft 365. Some providers are US companies; section 10 names them and says how your information is protected.

What happens to files in the 3D viewer? They stay in your browser and are not uploaded.

Do we load YouTube videos? Only when you play one; until then, YouTube receives no data.

With whom do we share personal information? Only with the providers named in section 4, and only for the purposes described there. We do not sell personal information.

What are your rights? Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the GDPR, you can ask for access, have your information corrected or deleted, and object to its processing. The easiest way is an email to info@atlasvr.ch.

1. What information do we collect?

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.

Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:

  • names
  • email addresses
  • phone numbers
  • company and role
  • what you tell us about your training needs when you book a demo

Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.

Information automatically collected

In Short: Some information - such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics - is collected automatically when you visit our Services.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services. Our website, our help center and our 3D viewer set no cookies; the one exception is the booking calendar on the contact page (section 4). To see which pages are read, we count page views with Vercel Web Analytics: it records the page, the page you came from, your country and the type of device, operating system and browser. It uses no cookies and builds no profile; to tell visits apart, it uses a value derived from the request that is discarded after 24 hours. The help center also remembers the device you select and your choice of light or dark mode in your browser's local storage, and this information stays on your device.

The information we collect includes:

  • Log and Usage Data. Log and usage data is service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our Services and which we record in log files. Depending on how you interact with us, this log data may include your IP address, device information, browser type, and settings and information about your activity in the Services (such as the date/time stamps associated with your usage, pages and files viewed, and other actions you take), device event information (such as system activity, error reports (sometimes called "crash dumps"), and hardware settings).
  • Device Data. We collect device data such as information about your computer, phone, tablet, or other device you use to access the Services. Depending on the device used, this device data may include information such as your IP address (or proxy server), device and application identification numbers, location, browser type, hardware model, Internet service provider and/or mobile carrier, operating system, and system configuration information.

3D viewer (viewer.atlasvr.ch)

In Short: Your 3D files stay in your browser. Only when you send a model to another device does our pairing service briefly exchange connection data.

The 3D viewer reads your file directly in your browser. It is not uploaded, not stored and not passed to anyone, and there is no account.

If you send a model to a VR headset or a phone, the file goes encrypted straight from device to device (WebRTC), not through our servers. So that the devices find each other, our pairing service exchanges only connection data: the code and the network addresses of the devices. It runs on Vercel in Frankfurt (EU) and deletes this data after 10 minutes at most. Each device looks up its public network address with a STUN server run by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA); Cloudflare receives the IP address, not the file.

The 3D viewer also counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics, without cookies, as described above. In addition, we count anonymous events such as the file format opened, the start of a VR session or a transfer to another device, never file names, codes or contents.

"Report a problem" opens your own email program with a prepared message to support@atlasvr.ch. It contains technical details such as the page, the viewer version, the browser, the format and size of the model and the error message, never the file or its name. It is only sent when you click send yourself.

2. How do we process your information?

In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes only with your prior explicit consent.

We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:

  • To respond to your inquiries and communicate with you. We may process your information to answer your requests, schedule meetings you ask for, and keep in touch about our products and Services.
  • To protect our Services. We may process your information as part of our efforts to keep our Services safe and secure, including fraud monitoring and prevention.

3. What legal bases do we rely on to process your information?

In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law, like with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services to enter into or fulfill our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests.

If you are located in Switzerland, we process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP); the legal bases described below for the EU apply analogously.

If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on in order to process your personal information. As such, we may rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:

  • Consent. We may process your information if you have given us permission (i.e., consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Legitimate Interests. We may process your information when we believe it is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests and those interests do not outweigh your interests and fundamental rights and freedoms. For example, we may process your personal information in order to diagnose problems and/or prevent fraudulent activities.
  • Legal Obligations. We may process your information where we believe it is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations, such as to cooperate with a law enforcement body or regulatory agency, exercise or defend our legal rights, or disclose your information as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.

4. When and with whom do we share your personal information?

In Short: We may share information in specific situations described in this section and/or with the following third parties.

Vendors, Consultants, and Other Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents ("third parties") who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. We have contracts in place with our third parties, which are designed to help safeguard your personal information. This means that they cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do it. They will also not share your personal information with any organization apart from us. They also commit to protect the data they hold on our behalf and to retain it for the period we instruct.

The third parties we may share personal information with are as follows:

  • Website Hosting and Content Delivery - Vercel Inc. (USA), for this website, for our help center at support.atlasvr.ch and for our 3D viewer at viewer.atlasvr.ch including its pairing service; pages are delivered through a global content delivery network and server-side functions run in Frankfurt (EU). Server logs as described in Section 1 are processed there. Vercel also counts the page views of all three sites (Vercel Web Analytics, Section 1).
  • Connection Set-up in the 3D Viewer - Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). When a model is sent, each device asks a Cloudflare STUN server for its public network address; Cloudflare receives the IP address, not the file.
  • Content Database - Supabase (Zurich, Switzerland). Editorial content of this website is stored there; no visitor data is stored in it.
  • Demo Booking - Cal.com scheduling software at cal.atlasvr.ch, hosted by Infomaniak in Switzerland. The booking calendar loads only on the contact page and when you click a "Book a demo" button. When you book a demo, your name, email address, your answers to the booking questions and the time you choose are stored there. The calendar sets two technically necessary cookies that protect against forged requests, and stores display settings such as the time format in your browser's local storage.
  • Email and Video Calls - Microsoft 365, a service of Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd. (Ireland). Emails to and from us, for example to info@atlasvr.ch, are processed in Microsoft 365, and demos and other meetings take place in Microsoft Teams. When you join a meeting, Microsoft processes your name, your email address, your IP address and the audio, video and chat messages you share in the meeting.
  • Video Embedding - YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Ltd. (Ireland). Videos on this website and in the help center are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode and load only once you start playback; until then, no data is transmitted to YouTube. When you play a video, YouTube receives your IP address and may store content in your browser.

We also may need to share your personal information in the following situations:

  • Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

5. How long do we keep your information?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).

The pairing service of the 3D viewer deletes its connection data (the code and the network addresses) after 10 minutes at most.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

6. How do we keep your information safe?

In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. All connections to our websites are encrypted with HTTPS. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

7. Do we collect information from minors?

In Short: Our websites are aimed at companies and training centers. Apprentices can use the help center and the 3D viewer too, without giving any personal information.

Our websites are aimed at companies, training centers and associations. The help center and the 3D viewer are also used by apprentices, who may be minors; both work without an account and without any personal information. We do not market to minors and do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child has given us personal information, we delete it. Please send any notice about this to info@atlasvr.ch.

8. What are your privacy rights?

In Short: Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the GDPR, you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information.

In Switzerland, the EEA and the UK, you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; (iv) if applicable, to data portability; and (v) not to be subject to automated decision-making. If a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects is made solely by automated means, we will inform you, explain the main factors, and offer a simple way to request human review. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. You can make such a request by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section "How can you contact us about this notice?" below.

We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

If you are located in the EEA or UK and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your Member State data protection authority or UK data protection authority.

If you are located in Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section "How can you contact us about this notice?" below.

However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at info@atlasvr.ch.

9. Controls for Do-Not-Track features

Browsers can send a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") signal to say that you do not want to be tracked online. We do not track you across websites, build no profiles and set no tracking cookies (section 1), so a DNT signal changes nothing: in every case, we process only the information described in this notice.

10. Do we transfer your information abroad?

In Short: Our service providers process your information mainly in Switzerland and the EU. Some of them are US companies or can access it from the USA; this section names them and how your information is protected.

The service providers listed in Section 4 process personal information mainly in Switzerland and the EU: Cal.com runs at Infomaniak in Switzerland, and Vercel's server-side functions and server logs are in Frankfurt (Germany). In the view of the Swiss Federal Council, the countries of the EU and the EEA provide adequate data protection.

Your information can also reach the USA:

  • Vercel Inc. is a US company and can access the data it processes for us from the USA. Vercel's content delivery network delivers pages from the location nearest to you.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. is a US company; its STUN server receives your device's IP address when you send a model to another device in the 3D viewer.
  • Microsoft can process emails and the data of a Teams meeting in the USA.
  • Google receives your information only once you play a YouTube video.

For disclosures to the USA, we rely on the recipient's certification under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the Federal Council recognizes as providing adequate protection, where the recipient is certified. Otherwise, we rely on the standard contractual clauses recognized by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or on an exception under Art. 17 FADP, for example where the disclosure is directly connected with the conclusion or performance of a contract with you.

11. Do we make updates to this notice?

In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date at the top of this Privacy Notice. If we make material changes to this Privacy Notice, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to review this Privacy Notice frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.

12. How can you contact us about this notice?

If you have questions or comments about this notice, you may email us at info@atlasvr.ch or contact us by post at:

13. How can you review, update, or delete the data we collect from you?

Under the data protection law that applies to you, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we collect from you, details about how we have processed it, correct inaccuracies, or delete your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law. To request to review, update, or delete your personal information, please email us at info@atlasvr.ch.
